Who's Who in PMR

PMR Board of Directors: Unpaid volunteers who oversee the general operation of Puppymill Rescue, Inc.  They approve the rescue of dogs from puppymills, decide which home best fits the dogs need, and participate in every aspect of the rescue group.  Some members help with vet care records, fundraising, responding to questions, coordinating the foster homes and placements for dogs, interact with the press and public, attend anti-puppymill related events, and provide the overall guidance and direction of the group.

Foster Co-coordinators: Unpaid volunteers who work with the foster homes to place the puppymill rescues under PMR's care.  They assign mentors to new foster parents, approve vet care, distribute donations of toys, blankets, etc., and are the communication link between foster homes and PMR.

Foster home teams: Unpaid volunteers who have completed a foster application and have been approved to foster puppymill rescue dogs. These men and women work with the rescue dogs to help them learn about freedom, evaluate the dog's personality & temperament, socialize them with humans, other dogs, sometimes cats or other critters, take them to the vet for needed medical care, teach them to walk on a leash when possible, and help the dog learn what it means to live outside a cage.  They also attend dog events and work to educate the public regarding the plight of mill dogs.

Foster Mentors: Unpaid volunteers who are experienced foster parents to puppymill rescue dogs.  Foster co-coordinators match every new foster parent with a mentor.  The mentor helps the new foster home understand the paperwork associated with fostering for PMR, is available to answer questions, find answers and offers support and knowledge to the new foster home.

Application Processing team: Unpaid volunteers who review applications and do the work behind the scenes to process applications.  They are the liaison between the applicant and the rescue working to place the right dog in the right adoptive home.

Vet Care Team: Unpaid volunteers who process all of the paperwork related to the rescue dog’s medical needs.  They track the vet care and needs of the dogs, work with the foster homes to follow up on needed vet care and update records on the progress of the dogs.

PMR Fund Raising Team: Unpaid volunteers who work together to raise the money needed to help care for the dogs. This may be in the form of raffles, soliciting employers, attending dog related events to tell the public about the organization, making & selling items to benefit PMR pups.

PMR Main list Members: Members who join the group and work together to educate new members, the public and their legislators regarding the need to end puppymills. They help with fundraisers, and lend their talents, knowledge and skills to help stop puppymills.
