Trudy  is really home!.......

Trudy

Trudy is a wonderful little (7 yr. old MinPin) girl & is settling in beautifully. It’s been 4 weeks since we brought her home, and we are IN-LOVE with her!

In the morning, she loves to race into the yard, exploring at length any smells might have changed from the night before, checking out every corner. She really likes to find the chipmunk holes and digs to flush them out. If big fur-sister Tasha barks, she barks (so cute). Such a big dog in such a little body. She races back in, and is full of energy, attacking her squeaky toys one after another, and “killing” them, while I throw them to her & laugh. Then time for breakfast. After that she hangs out on the bed, watching me get ready for work.

She tags along for the ride to drop the kids off at school, and hasn’t gotten car-sick once yet. The first few times she was a little nervous about where she might be going, but now is happy to look out the window (“wow, did you see that bird?”) and smell any smells coming in thru the window; even laying down & just enjoying the ride.

When it’s time for mom to leave the house, she sure doesn’t like it. At first, we built a door to separate her from Tasha, and although I left Animal Planet on tv for her, she cried & scratched at the door, breaking my heart…. But BIG NEWS! After 2 weeks we left her loose in the house for a little while to hang with Tasha - & although I was a little nervous, we came home to 2 happy dogs at the front door! So we are all very happy with that change in events!

Her potty-training is improving vastly as well. Her mistakes are minimal. She especially likes it when we’re all home. She watches intently when Tom is cooking at the stove, hoping he’ll let something good fall to the floor, then settles into her bed in the kitchen as we check our emails, or the kids do their homework. Then up on the couch with the kids to watch tv, to be cuddled & scratched some more. Then off to bed… she’s happy to sleep with anyone who gets her first. Trudy’s a cuddler; wanting to be scratched & petted, using her paws on us to ‘grab’ us until we comply. The end of another beautiful day.

We are so happy with her. God bless whoever got her out of the mill / PMR. We are so grateful.
