Malibu
A rescue happy ending Malibu.

Malibu was born on 3/26/01 in the mills of Missouri only to be purchased by a broker. She then found herself sitting in a pet store in California. It was soon determined that she was loosing hair and that she had demodectic mange. This is not contagious to anyone or any other pets. So after 6 months in a cage, she made her way back to the broker and then back to the mill here in Missouri. We got her from the mill because of her medical condition.

Here is a picture of Malibu right after we got her. She was thin due to having untreated coccidia. Also notice the hair loss on her feet.

Her new mom and dad have done some intensive research and consulted their vets on Malibu's condition. It is currently under control, but it can flare back up at anytime during her life. This is especially if she is under stress.

Malibu is going to be an only dog at this time. So she is going to be spoiled rotten. I have already warned them of her constant running and wanting to play play play.

Yearly Update 2/16/03

I WANTED TO WRITE TO YOU ABOUT MALIBU [ MOLLY, NOW] BECAUSE I THINK THAT YOU WERE THE ONE THAT WAS HER FOSTER MOM. IT HAS BEEN 1 YEAR ON JAN. 21 THAT WE HAVE HAD MOLLY, A SMALL BLACK CHIHUAHUA WITH SOME WHITE ON HER BACK TOES, AND I WANTED TO TELL YOU HOW SHE'S DOING. . SHE NEVER MADE A SOUND WHEN WE FIRST GOT HER. NOW, SHE'S VERY VOCAL AND TALKS TO ME ALL THE TIME. SHE LOVES THE HOUSE AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO MAKE HER HAPPY. IT'S STRANGE, I HAVE HAD DOGS ALL OF MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A DOG THAT IS SO HAPPY WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. I WAS WORRIED WHEN I AGREED TO TAKE A DOG THAT I KNEW WAS ABUSED AND SICKLY. BUT I WAS COMMITTED TO DO SO. AND THIS WAS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. SHE IS DEFINITELY THE BEST DOG I HAVE EVER HAD. [ AND I HAVE RAISED 6 DOGS SO FAR]. SHE IS THE SMARTEST AND SWEETEST DOG AND SHE MAKES ME LAUGH ON A DAILY BASIS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A DOG SO HAPPY AND SO THANKFUL TO BE HERE, AND I COULD NEVER PAY ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY A DOG AS WONDERFUL AS HER. SINCERELY, JAN HAFTEL
