Lil Britches

Yahoo!!!!!!!!!  to his foster Mommy.....

Linda, Dick & The North Texas Pom Palace Pack

Update 6/21/05

It's me, Lil Britches. I am still here at the Pom Palace and still looking for my forever home!! My Foster Mom told me that my little Yorkie friend Precious has found herself a wonderful forever family where she will be the little spoiled Diva that she wants to be, and, I couldn't help but feel a little depressed. How come nobody wants me? I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for my forever home. I am a very loveable fella and will lay in your lap like a baby as long as you rub my chest. If you quit rubbing my chest, then I will softly remind you to keep rubbing by moving both my front feet together. FM says it looks like I am praying that you will keep petting me. I can jump really high, like a grasshopper, when it is time for a treat. I can run like the wind. And, I love playing and bringing the toys back. Yes, I must admit I am slowing down a bit, and can be a bit grouchy sometimes, but you would never guess me to be 11 1/2 years old, if you just got to know me. Please, if you have a home where you want and need just one special fella, push my adopt button. I might even consider a home with one other pup, as long as they let me be the boss. I have so much love to give and I will follow you everywhere and you can take me on rides in the car and walks and I will become your devoted companion. I love my FM and FD to pieces, but they have too many others who need petting, too. I want my very own, just for me, petting person. FM took some new pictures to send so you can watch me play. I really like my new toy!! I do pretty good for a fella with just three teeth, don't ya think?

Love, Lil Britches

Hello everybody! This is Lil Britches speaking. Just thought you would all like to know that I am doing very well. I just had another X-ray and what my vet found was great news!! Although, there is still a shadow near my heart, they do not feel it is a mass or a cancer.

They think it might be scar tissue from a previous infection or injury of some kind. I am very healthy overall, except for my slow and sometimes irregular heartbeat. And, if I get too relaxed I can fall over, but that has happened only once in the past four months or so. I have a very urgent request! I am hoping my FOREVER MOM is out there and reading this update today and will push my button TODAY. Everything was beautiful around the Pom Palace for a long time, but just recently my Foster Mom brought in this little black hairless Pom boy that is making my life miserable. HE thinks he owns Foster Mom (not me); HE thinks he should have all my toys. HE even steals my "GREEN MAN!!". Then, you know what he does? He chews the legs and arms off of it, then swallows them, then gags and Foster Mom pays him all sorts of attention, instead of me because she thinks he is sick or something. I know he is just faking it but FM gets worried. OH, and you know what else he does? I'm playing with my toys, turn my back for a second and he takes them and hides them from me. I caught him trying to bury "GREEN MAN" outside in the dirt!! When I tried to tell him that wasn't nice, he tried to bite me. I only have three teeth and he has almost all of his............now is that being fair? Of course, he only weighs 5 lbs and I weigh 9 lbs now, but still. Please look at my picture. I have become a most handsome senior gentleman. I am looking for somebody who wants a sweet, loving companion who loves being a lap dog; who loves playing with toys; and who will do anything at all for your attention and love. Please, please, please FOREVER MOM, push my button and save me from that little black monster dog!!!

Sincerely, with love,

LIL BRITCHES

Lil Britches wanted me to send great big 'THANK YOU'S' to everybody who contributed to his goodie box that he received yesterday. He was one very happy camper to get all this new "stuff". When the deliveryman rang the bell and I saw the box, I told LB that it was probably for him. He started getting all excited as I opened the box.

OH BOY, NEW TOYS FOR ME!!!! (that's Happy in the background)

Perky and Happy had to get into the act too. There's Sassy in her bed scared because of the camera flash. Poor baby. :(

These may not be the best pictures in the world, but I just wanted to share the joy that Lil Britches felt when he got all these toys and goodies. I wish everybody could have seen exactly how excited and happy he was. At first he didn't want to share, but he finally realized that there were enough toys for everybody to play who wanted to. : )

Thank you for sending in these donations and for making one little foster Pom a very happy little boy. (And, thank you PMR for seeing to it that these donations are boxed up and shipped to the Foster babies).

Lil Britches

Lil Britches is in need of some prayers from everybody. He started coughing very badly last week, so I took him in to the vet. We did x-rays and also an ECG. This exam revealed that Lil Britches has an irregular heartbeat which beats at 1/2 of what is normal for a dog his size and age. In addition, the x-rays revealed that he has a problem in the upper portion of his trachea and also what looks like a mass (tumor) in the lower portion of his trachea close to his heart. My vet sent the ECG to a Cardiologist for his opinion and he also seemed to think that there is indeed a tumor pushing against Lil Britches' heart which is causing the irregular heartbeat, coughing, and abnormally slow heartbeat. Due to Lil Britches age and heart condition, it is very unlikely that he could survive open heart surgery to remove the mass. At the present time all we can do is treat his symptoms and hope he stabilizes. We will be keeping a close watch on this mass to see if it grows and my vet will be monitoring Lil Britches very closely. He will be getting the best of care and we will be making sure he is comfortable.

Lil Britches is now a very special needs baby and will need a very special home. For the time being, Lil Britches is still eating well and is still playing. He is not quite as active as he was, but is still a very loving, cheerful, sweet little fella. Could you be the special home he needs?

I am his Foster Mom and would happy to hear from you at landersLBLANDERS@aol.org.
