Bogie AKA Harry Winston and Rusty

Before our little Harry arrived, Rusty was the baby of the pack and took a lot of play and lap time in a puppy fashion. It was really hard for him to find anyone to play with since all our "old gals" were just not that playful anymore. The moment that Harry arrived, Rusty "grew up," and has appeared to take on a responsibility role in the pack. He has been caring for and playing SO gently with Harry Winston that it is just amazing. He seems exceptionally interested in Harry's welfare and seems even delighted that Harry eats off his plate with him.

We have seen it before... you bring a new dog into the pack and whoever was the 'baby' before takes on an adult role and "job" and the new dog becomes the "baby." The amazing thing about the Huskies in our experience is that in their basic nature we have found that they are such gentle animals and care so much for the little ones! This is the second Husky we've had that will never win a wrestling match with their smaller sibling... they always let the little ones win! Rusty is so wonderful with Harry and they have made such a bond in only a week that we are just amazed. We thought you all would enjoy seeing this.

Hi there, Harry Winston (aka Bogie) here.. Hoping that you are enjoying this Spring. It's been a year since I've been sprung from a life in a 3x3 wooden box. Fortunately, my miller has been brought to justice with criminal charges.

Although my life with her resulted in some physical problems, like my damaged eyesight; I am happy to say I have no emotional scars! I am so happy to be free, I love all my canine and people pals so much! I get along fine with cats, and dogs of ALL sizes, from my size to big Labs! As you might recall, I am a 9 lb. neutered, simply gorgeous brindle and white male Shih Tzu, called "Harry Winston" because I am just a jewel of a guy! I am crate-trained, almost house-broken if you observe my schedule and my "cues"; and I know some simple verbal commands. I am not a "barker", but I'll let you know with one bark when I can't find my way somewhere. I can go up many stairs, but only down a few.

Medically, I am in pretty darn good shape for a mill survivor. I have only one eye with very, very limited vision, and I require 2 types of eye drops twice daily. These are for dry eye and to maintain my eye pressure. I must see the vet tech quarterly for eye pressure checks; and the eye vet semi-annually for an exam. I also get 1/2 pepcid AC daily to combat my acid tummy. I have had occasional seizures and I do have medicine for that.

My favorite things to do are: sleep right next to my favorite human; play with my dog friends; run freely around the back yard; play with toys and eat treats!

My ideal forever home would have another dog that I could follow around and play with; a safe arrangement of furniture which isn't rearranged too often; and children over 12. I love my foster family very much, but I know somewhere out there is my forever family just waiting for me!
