Faith and ChrisMiss the story of Two special girls who were considered rejects( were going to be killed)  in the mills of MO... their fate was nearly sealed defective so not worth anything!.........or so the Puppymillers thought!.

ChrisMiss and Faith went to their forever home 10/30/02

ChrisMiss and Faith where do I begin. I guess I will recap how God brought them to me. I first saw them on Petfinder and then I adopted them from Puppymillrescue.

Their bio's said they were special needs because Faith had no back feet and ChrisMiss had a birth defect in her back which resulted in a condition which makes her hop like a bunny. Well, that is the medical diagnosis but they have no special needs at all in my opinion. They are very normal and very playful puppies. They do everything that any other puppy would do. When I look at them I do not see anything different. They have adjusted well and are very happy. Faith loves to run with me, well I run and she rides in the baby jogger (secured of course)...ChrisMiss is my lap baby and loves to be on my lap all the time. They want for nothing and are loved just like what was intended for them. My husband Glenn and I have never been happier and will be forever grateful that we were chosen to be their parents. All I can tell PMR is thank you for giving me the most precious gifts from God. We are so very blessed.

A few special words from my heart about special needs puppies. If adopting a special needs puppy is something that you are considering then please consider these few things. Please know that special needs puppies are a labor of love. While they require different types of care, the rewards far surpass any special care. The love from a special needs pup is like no other. They are so innocent and have an overwhelming desire to be loved and give love. Your eyes immediately see love and you forget that there are any special needs at all. While we might have set in our minds that we
want a young healthy playful puppy we so easily "overlook" that special needs puppies can be just that. The only difference is their care might be a little different from the norm. Faith loves to run, just not on concrete...ChrisMiss loves to be held, you just do not place your hands on her lower back.....You see, the puppies want the same things you just make adjustments for them....adjustments of love. So when looking for that perfect puppy know that having no back feet and a fractured back really is PERFECT.

Blessing Always,

Update 2/2/2002

Faith is a wonderful, happy little 5-month-old puppy. She is much more meek than ChrisMiss and is very shy. She runs when you try to pick her up, but relaxes very quickly in your arms, and will sleep there for hours. She especially likes to be held by my husband, who doesn't mind holding her all night along. I think that Faith will always be very shy and therefore, will need a home where she can be a precious princess and go with her mommy and daddy everywhere.

She is a very fragile little girl and currently only weighs 2.6#. She has a good appetite and her hypoglycemia is being controlled by adding a bit of Karo syrup in her morning food. She is playful when ChrisMiss initiates play, but she doesn't start play on her own. She and ChrisMiss enjoy tumbling all over one another and sleep with their heads across the others' back. ChrisMiss cleans Faith's face every night..........

Faith has an appointment with the orthopedic team at the University of Florida School of Veterinarian Medicine on Monday, February l8th. At that time, fitting her with orthodics or a custom-made bootie is likely. I have made several types of booties for her, and she is comfortable wearing them on her feet. She can walk on her stubs, but it is painful and she lifts her left rear leg. This leg will most likely need to be x-rayed to make sure there are no sharp bone fragments causing her pain.

Hello everybody,
Faith here - has anybody been wondering about how I've been doing? Well, I'll try to tell you everything that I've been doing since my last update. I am now 9-1/2 months old and weigh 5.5#. I am a very pretty girl, but Foster Mommy says that I am still very timid. I am just now beginning to go up to Foster Mommy & Daddy and ask them to pick me up. Even though I really really want them to pick me up, I still put my head down on the floor when they do, because I am still very scared. I LOVE to give kisses and I can give kisses for a l-o-n-g time! Foster Mommy says that I can lick all her lipstick off in less than a minute! Is that fast?
I'm a very pretty little girl and I love the little house that Foster Mommy got for me. I can run in it any time I get scared or it gets too rowdy with all my foster brothers and sister. They like to run around the house making lots of noise and that scares me sometimes, so I run like the wind into my little house. I also like to be in the crate with my big brother, Dijon. Foster Mommy says that Dijon can't see, so when I run into his crate I get up real close to him so that he will know that it's me. Dijon is a cocky spander or something like that and I really love him. He makes me feel really safe and lets me nap in his crate.
My hair is getting long enough on top so that Foster Mommy can put a really pretty bow in it - do you like the picture of me with my bow? I am a very good girl when I get my baths, but I still don't know why Foster Mommy insists on bathing me every week! We got a new doggie door, but I'm afraid to go out of it. I went out a few times, but then I was scared to come back in the doggie door, so now I don't go out anymore. Foster Mommy will leave the big people's door open for me so that I won't feel left out.
Foster Mommy said to tell everypuppy that I was spayed and microchipped, whatever that means, and had 3 puppy teetn pulled. All I know is that me and ChrisMiss went to the doctor's office and they gave me something that made me go to sleep and when I woke up, I had a 'cision on my tummy and it hurt a little bit. But Foster Mommy took good care of me and now I'm all better. She said that I was a very good little patient! ChrisMiss didn't get spayed but she will tell you all about that when it's her turn to talk.
ChrisMiss is my bestest friend and I love her so much. Foster Mommy says that we are "sisters" and I think its really special to have a sister. I don't like for her to be out of my sight and when she is, I bark and bark and bark until I can find her. Even when Foster Mommy is bathing ChrisMiss, I have to sit up on the counter and watch her to make sure everything is going okay. That's why me and ChrisMiss have to be adopted together - we love each other very, very much!

I am housebroken and never ever have accidents! Well, when Foster Mommy had a pretty rug in the family room ChrisMiss and I liked to pee-pee on that, but now that it's not there anymore, I don't pee-pee on anything I'm not supposed to. I have started getting up on my back legs to see what's up high - this is something new for me to do and it's fun. I have a very loud bark, but I don't bark unless I'm unhappy about something, and that isn't too often, 'cause Foster Mommy says that we are very spoiled and get everything we want.

I love to play with my fur foster sister and brothers, except sometimes they get a little bit too rough and then I run in the crate with Dijonnie. But in the morning when everypuppy gets up, I have to kiss each one of them all over their head to tell them "good morning". That's just what we do here!
ChrisMiss and I are hoping that our forever home is out there somewhere. We need to have a home where there aren't any big dogs or small children. Unless it's a big dog that's gentle like my Dijonnie. I am very healthy and am very good about taking my vitamins, too. Foster Mommy and Auntie Jean are going to be making me some slippers that I can wear around the house so my back legs won't hurt when I run. A very nice man named Sean made me some feetsies that I can run on, but I just need some house slippers to wear when I'm not running.
Well, bye bye for now.................if you like to be kissed a lot and want two very pretty girls to love.

Faith Snowball

Hello everybody, ChrisMiss here
- been wondering what I've been doing? I've been keeping Foster Mommy and Daddy very busy 'cause I am very curious and want to know about everything. Sometimes, this means I get in a little bit of trouble, but it's usually worth it cause I find something really special that I'm not supposed to find. Foster Mommy said that if I get kicked to the curb and have to make a living for myself that I can go into the copying business. She said that you can leave me in the room with one little piece of paper and when you come back 30 seconds later, there are 25 little pieces of paper! Isn't that smart of me? She said that people who are in the copying business can makes lots of money. Then I can donate it to free all the puppies that are still in the puppymills.

I am a very active puppy - I am 8 months old and weigh 5.7#, and I have very long legs. I can run really fast, but I run a little bit different from the other puppies. That's okay because that makes me special. Me and Spanky and Bijou love to play "chase" at night and we run and run and run all around the house. Foster Mommy laughs at me because she says that the other puppies "lap" me, but I don't know what that means so I just keep running and have a lot of fun. I like to play with Spanky and Bijou - Boca doesn't play with any of us cause he's so grumpy.

I love to be held and hug your arms with my front legs when you hold me. I like to lay my head on your shoulder and look up at you. Foster Daddy holds me a lot and I really like that. He calls me his Little Chrissy. Me and Faith still have our puppy playpen but Foster Mom made it smaller cause she said that we were getting to be big girls now and that we could be with the other big boys and girls.
I am the only puppy in the house that can open gates! I don't know what's wrong with them that they can't do it cause it's so easy for me. I just must be really smart, huh? Foster Mommy says that she is going to get me an "agent", whatever that is, cause I can probably get a special on television since I can do such remarkable things.

I love my sister Faith very much and she and I are looking for our forever home together. It has to be with someone who doesn't have any big dogs or small children. We get along very well with other puppies, but Foster Mom said that it would be good for us to be in a home that doesn't have a lot of puppies so that we can get extra attention. We have never been at home during the day by ourselves, so we are hoping to have a home where someone is home all the time with us. That way, we won't get lonely.
We also need a home where there will be lots of toys cause I just love to play with toys. I love to play with little toys and big toys and toys in-between. My PAL has sent me lots of fun toys and I love all of them! I collect toys during the day and put them in my beds - I have lots of beds cause I need to rest sometimes so Foster Mom has lots of beds around the house in case I get tired and need to rest. Sometimes I will have so many toys in my beds that there's nowhere to sleep, so I just lie down on the floor and fall asleep!
Faith and I took a trip to the doctor's office and we were both going to get spayed, whatever that means, but they couldn't spay me then cause they said that my heart was beating kinda funny. So Foster Mom took me to a cardee-oll-o-jist to make sure that there was nothing wrong with my heart and the really pretty cardee-oll-o-jist said that my heart was just fine - she also told me I was very cute, too! So I am going to get spayed next week.

If you think you would love to have me and Faith come and live with you, please press our Adopt Button, okay? We are lots of fun to have around and will keep you laughing all the time. We will also come with our very own toy supply and beds!
ByeBye for now.............
