Update 5/15/04

Blue’s letter to his PALs…Ms. Porters Second Grade Class!!!

Hi kids!!  It’s me Blue again!!

Thank you so much for being my PALs!!  Because of you, I got to go shopping in a big store.  Here are a whole bunch of pictures of me shopping.  This is the store.

It was very big. And there were lots, and lots of toys!

They were up high on the shelves, so I asked my friend Erin to lift me up to see them all!

So she did.

This is a giant hamburger that SQUEAKS!!

Then we went and tried on clothes!  That was not as fun as picking out the toys.  T

his is a motorcycle hat.  It is kind of cool.  Next is a Blue hat.

It was my favorite.

Don’t I look handsome?

Then we went and picked out treats and looked at more toys.  This is the biggest bone I ever saw!!!

Next is a picture of me with some of the toys I bought.

I had so much fun shopping for toys and treats.  Thank you all very much.

I had to go to the animal doctor.  She is called a “veterinarian”.  I had to have some shots with needles!  They hurt!  My foster mom told me that I have something called Heartworm.  That is a very bad thing to have, and I had to have the shots to help me get better.  Now I have to be very quiet and I can not run and play until I am all better.   My friend Maggie and I can not run and play in the back yard.  We can not chase balls, or wrestle, or anything.  Maggie is very sad.  I am very sad too.

Foster mom told me that very soon, when I am all better, I can run and play again!  She told me that I can soon play with all the new toys I bought while I was shopping!  I do get to sleep with my toys.  That makes me happy, because I can make them squeak.  Sometimes foster mom says, “stop squeaking those toys Blue, it is time for bed!”  Then I have to go to sleep.

Foster mom told me that very soon all of you kids in Miss Porter’s Second Grade Class will be going on Summer Vacation.  I sure hope that is nice!  She told me that after summer vacation, you would be in the third grade!  I sure hope that is nice too!

Thanks to all of you boys and girls.  I have had a lot of fun shopping and writing you letters.  It was so nice to get all of your cards.  Please remember that each and every one of you is very special.  You helped me to be safe and free from that very bad place called a puppy mill!!  Thanks to you, I now have toys, and treats, and good food to eat, and a soft bed to sleep on!

Remember that all living things are special and all living things need a chance to be just who they are and to be happy!!  (even bugs and alligators!!!)

Have a very wonderful summer vacation!  See ya' later alligators!!!

Your Friend, Blue

Blue’s letter to his PALs…Ms. Porters Second Grade Class!!!

I got a whole bunch of cards from you!! Thank you very much! My foster mom showed them to me and read them to me. I thought they might be fun to chew on – but foster mom wouldn’t let me. She sure doesn’t like it when I chew up papers. I think it is fun. It makes a really neat noise when I chew and tear paper. Oh well, she just gives me more toys or some bones to chew. Those are fun too.

In the cards some of you asked how old I am. I will soon be two years old!! That is actually 8 years in dog years. So I think I am almost the same age as some of you are!! Also some of you wanted to know if I had a girl friend. Yes I do. Her name is Maggie. She and I play all day.

Below is a picture of foster mom and me. She is always giving me kisses and hugs (which is mostly OK, but sometimes I would rather play!). In this picture I am giving her a very nice kiss. She likes that a lot.

I have had a very busy time.

I went out on two trips!! The first one was to visit a very nice lady and a dog and a cat. Foster mom told me that the nice lady was thinking of adopting me. The dog was nice, but he was old and didn’t want to play. The cat was the first one I ever met in person!! She was kind of funny and just looked at me. I tried to talk to her and get her to play, but she hissed at me then ran away. I think she would be fun to chase because she runs really fast and I can run fast too. Oh!! I also met a guinea pig! Do you guys know what that is? It makes a really funny noise just like a squeaky toy!! He didn’t want to play though.

Then I went to a store. It was a store that dogs and cats can go to. Foster mom said that there would be lots of stuff to see and smell there. Boy was she right! There were lots of other people and dogs there. There were lots of toys there. Mostly there were lots and lots of good things to smell there!! There were cookies, and bones, and treats everywhere! When I first got there I was kind of scared. There were big doors that moved all by themselves and made a “wooshy” sound. I don’t like doors. They are scary. But foster mom was with me and we were through those doors lickity-split! We got some new toys for me to play with. Foster mom said that I could have any toy I wanted because Ms. Porter’s Second Grade Class are my pals! So I picked out some squeaky toys. Here are some pictures.

This is my favorite one. It has 2 squeaky parts!

I like the red one too. Foster mom says it’s a little devil like me!

I tried to take the tag off this one, but Foster mom went and got some scissors. See the blue one?? It’s a fuzzy pig.
Thank you so much for the toys!!
Let me know if you have any more questions for me!

“See ya later Alligator!! After while Crocodile!!” Isn’t that a funny thing to say? My friend Tayla says that to me all the time. She is 5 years old and is in kindergarten. Is that like Second Grade?
Love,

BLUE

Blue’s letter to his PALs…Ms. Porters Second Grade Class!!!

Hi all. I wanted to let everyone know where I am. I sure miss all my friends at mommy Cindy's house. Especially Molly Brown! Guess what - I went on a very long ride in a lot of cars!! It was fun. I saw a lot of people and played with a lot of other dogs along the way. It was kinda scary, but fun too. There were lots of things to see and lots of toys! I ended up in a funny place called "road eyeland" (isn't that a funny name??).

At first I didn't like it here too much. There was all this very cold white stuff on the ground, and my feet got so wet and cold!! I couldn't even see any grass!! Then a very nice doggie named Maggie made me her friend. She showed me how much fun this white stuff was! We could run in it, and eat it, and dig in it, and chase imaginary things under it! It was still cold, but playing with my new friend Maggie made it OK. The white stuff is all gone for now, and now Maggie and I run, and run, and run, and wrestle, and chase, and play outside a lot. We sometimes chase in the house too, but foster mom says we have to be more careful, so my favorite place is outside.

I have lots of toys here, and I LOVE to play with them. If it is down on the floor, and if I can get it in my mouth, then I can grab it and run!! My new foster mom tells me that not everything is mine, but I think it is.

It was so much fun to pile up all the rugs in the hall, and to steal the mat out from big dog Peppers food! What fun that was!!! There was food all over the kitchen floor!! Foster mom got out a thing called a broom, and we all tried real hard to eat as much as we could before she scooped it all away!! I love to play and run with Maggie. She and I have become best friends. Foster mom is going to send you pictures of me and some of my new friends. There is a little fluffy thing here that looks a lot like a toy, but she is my friend Lizzy. She doesn't like to play too much, but she is OK. One of the funnest things I get to do is snuggle with foster mom. She has a nice soft lap, and it is great to sleep on!! I love to give kisses, and get kisses too!

Foster mom says I need a home with a lot of things to do. I have already learned some tricks. I can dance when it is time for a treat, and I love to play a game called fetch!! I chase the ball and bring it back to foster mommy, and she throws it again, and again! I could do that all day!

Foster mom says that I could sure use a little boy or girl to play with!! I hope I can get some of them, 'cuz foster mom says that would be "ideal" (not sure what that means, but doesn't it sound fun??).

Love,
Blue

Hi. This is Blue's foster mom. Blue is 12 pounds of fun, fun, and more fun! He loves to play, but also is just as happy snuggling up on a lap or in one of Auntie Jean's Punkin beds. He would do great in a home with another active dog to play with or with a special boy or girl to call his own. He is a sweet, loving little guy that would make a great companion! He is doing great on housetraining. He loves everyone he meets, and will share his toys and food with anyone, as long as he gets a little love in return!

Please consider Blue as your forever friend!!
